Abstract:

Objective

To explore the relationship between WASP-family verprolin-homologous protein 1 and high mobility group box 1 in lung tissues in septic rabbits.

Methods

Thirty healthy male rabbits were randomly divided into 2 groups: sham operation group (Sham group), urosepsis group (US group). The model of urpsepsis was induced by acute pelvic obstruction in high pressure. SABC immunohistochemistry was done respectively to determinate WAVE1 protein expression levels, HMGBl content and HMGBl mRNA expression in lung tissues at 12 h, 24 h and 36 h after operation.

Results

Compared with Sham group, HMGBl content and HMGBl mRNA expression were significantly increased in US group (P<0.05). WAVE1 was strongly positively expressed in 80% of US group, while it was weakly positive or negative expressed in 86.67%of Sham group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusions

WAVE1 potentially involved in the up-regulation of HMGBl expression in lung tissues in septic rabbits.

Key words: Urosepsis, High mobility group box 1, Acute lung injury, WAVE1
