Abstract:

Objective

To compare the clinical efficacy and safety between anatomical and conventional retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy.

Methods

From January 2010 to December 2016, 30 patients with adrenal diseases in our hospital were enrolled into two groups, including 14 cases of anatomical retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy (observation group), and 16 cases conventional retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy (control group). The intraoperative blood loss, operative time, the time of drainage tube retention, hospital stay, and the complications were compared.

Results

Compared with the control group, the operation time, the time of drainage tube retention and hospital stay were shorter in observation group (P<0.05). Furthermore, the intraoperative blood loss and intraoperative peritoneal injury rate in observation group were less than control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Anatomical retroperitoneal laparoscopic adrenalectomy, which was exposed and separated the adrenal gland through the correct natural anatomical space, had advantages of higher efficiency, less bleeding, clear operation field, fewer complications, and is worth popularizing in clinical practice.
