Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application effect of a self-designed continuous irrigator in flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy.

Methods

A total of 160 patients who underwent flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy in the Department of Urology of our hospital from August 2023 to January 2024 were selected as the study objects, and were voluntarily divided into observation group (n=80) and control group (n=80). The observation group was injected with a new continuous irrigator during the operation, and the control group was injected with a traditional syringe. The general data, operation duration, intraoperative water injection pause time, intraoperative blurred vision time, postoperative complication rate, operator satisfaction, assistant satisfaction, nurse satisfaction and other indicators were compared between the two groups.

Results

Compared with the control group, the operation duration, intraoperative water injection pause time and intraoperative blurred vision time in the observation group were shorter (P<0.05), surgeon, assistant, nurse satisfaction were higher (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in postoperative complications.

Conclusion

The new continuous irrigator can improve the efficiency of flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy and the satisfaction of the surgical staff, and it is worth promoting in clinical practice.
