Application of microporous polysaccharide hemospheres in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of microporous polysaccharide hemospheres (MPH) in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.

Methods

Sixty-two cases of extroverted growth renal tumor (CT diameter 3-4 cm) were selected from 2014 to 2018 and randomly divided into MPH group and control group prospectively. The amount of bleeding, warm ischemic time, hemostasis time and postoperative recovery of the two groups were compared.

Results

There was no significant difference in the warm ischemic time and weight of renal tissue between the two groups (P>0.05). The MPH group was less than the control group in hemostatic time, bleeding volume, postoperative hospital stay, duration of retaining canal and volume of drainage (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in coagulation function between the two groups (P>0.05).

Conclusion

Composite microporous hemostatic powder is safe and effective in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, it provides an effective method for laparoscopic hemostasis.
