Diagnosis and treatment strategy of urachal carcinoma and literature review one case report

Abstract:

Objective

The aim of this study was to explore the diagnosis and treatment strategy of urachal carcinoma.

Methods

In November 2019, one case of urachal carcinoma patient was admitted to our hospital, female, 69 years old. After completing the relevant preparations, laparoscopic partial cystectomy and urachal and umbilical resection was performed. Combined with the domestic and foreign literature reports, this paper discusses the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment strategy of urachal carcinoma.

Results

Preoperative CT examination showed neogenesis of the top of the bladder, local protuberant changes, cystoscopy found tumor at the top of the bladder, biopsy pathological indicated adenocarcinoma. The operation was successful, the operation time was about 3 hours, the intraoperative bleeding was about 20 ml, the postoperative pathological indicated moderate differentiated adenocarcinoma and the cutting edge was negative, and the patients was recovered well after the operation.

Conclusion

The diagnosis of urachal carcinoma depends on the clinical manifestations, imaging, cystoscopy and immunohistochemical staining. The treatment of urachal carcinoma includes the resection of umbilicus, urachal and partial bladder, combined with postoperative chemotherapy.
