Abstract:

Objective

To discuss the safety and efficacy of Allium ureteral stent in the treatment of middle-long segment ureteral stricture.

Methods

The data of 23 patients with ureteral stricture of middle-to-long segments who were admitted to the Department of Urology of Geriatric Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from October 2020 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

Results

The ureteroscopy and retrograde ureteroscopy revealed that the lengths of the segments were 3-15 cm respectively, including 16 cases of unilateral stricture and 7 cases of bilateral stricture.Four steps of retrograde ureterography, ureteroscopy, dilatation of ureteral stricture and ureteral stent implantation were successfully completed under the guidance of C-arm X-ray.All of the 23 cases of dilatation of ureteral stricture were completed with the implantation of Allium ureteral stent.20 cases (86.96%) had good results after ureteral stents were followed up for 34-48 months.

Conclusion

The success rate of endoplasty of ureteral stricture can be improved by the combination of ureteroscopy and X-ray guidance, and the implantation of Allium ureteral stent solves the technical problem of continuous shaping of middle and long segment ureteral stricture after dilatation to some extent.
