Cystostomy leads to huge bladder stones: a case report

Abstract:

The incidence of bladder stones is much higher in men than in women,and it is rare for women to form huge bladder stones.This article reports a case of a 68-year-old female patient who presented with a 5-year history of abdominal discomfort.Urologic ultrasound showed that after fistula surgery,7.5 cm×8.0 cm curved strong echoes were seen in the bladder cavity,and bladder stones were considered.We performed a cystotomy for lithotripsy and cystostomy surgery.After surgery,the patient was further treated in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department for poor healing of an infected incision.Completed repair of chronic ulcers of the abdominal wall,repair of bladder defects,cystostomy,and abdominal wall fascia flap plasty in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department.The patient's wound healed well after surgery and was discharged.
