Primary renal undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma:a case report and literature review

Objective

To report a rare case of primary renal undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma and review the literature.

Methods

The clinical data of a case of primary renal pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma in October 2018 were retrospectively analyzed and the relevant references were reviewed.

Results

The patient underwent laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and the postoperative pathological results indicated undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma. The patient refused adjuvant chemoradiotherapy, and died of tumor recurrence and mctastasis 8 months after surgery.

Conclusion

Primary renal undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma is extremely rare, with low incidence and high degree of malignancy. Primary undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma has a poor prognosis which is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The primary treatment is early surgical excision.
