Abstract:

Objective

To analyze the correlation between ultrasonic parameters and renal function in children with hydronephrosis caused by ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO).

Methods

92 children (disease group) with hydronephrosis caused by UPJO treated in Xuzhou Children's Hospital from February 2020 to April 2021 and 92 healthy children (control group) were selected. The renal interlobar artery resistance index (RI), systolic maximum blood flow velocity (Vmax) and diastolic minimum blood flow velocity (Vmin) were measured by color Doppler ultrasound, and the arterial resistance index ratio (RIR) was calculated, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was measured by renal radionuclide dynamic imaging, and the contents of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (SCr) were detected by enzyme method. Ultrasound parameters (RI, Vmax, Vmin, RIR) and renal function indexes (GFR, bun, SCR) were compared between the disease group and control group, and Pearson method was used to analyze the correlation between ultrasound parameters and renal function indexes in the disease group.

Results

Vmax, Vmin and GFR of kidney in the disease group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and RI, RIR, BUN and SCr were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). RI and RIR were negatively correlated with GFR (P<0.05), positively correlated with BUN and SCr (P<0.05). Vmax and Vmin were positively correlated with GFR (P<0.05), negatively correlated with BUN and SCr (P<0.05).

Conclusions

Compared with healthy children, RI, RIR increased, and Vmax, Vmin decreased in children with hydronephrosis caused by UPJO. The ultrasound parameters are correlated with renal function.
