Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the efficacy of the patent dilator in establishing tract for percutaneous nephrolithotomy in non-hydronephrotic kidney.

Methods

The data of 154 patients with renal calculus in non-dilated collecting system during March 2013 to December 2015 in the First People's Hospital of Yulin were retrospectively reviewed. The dilation success rate, tract formation time, total operating time, preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin concentrations, stone free rate, average postoperative hospital stay and the cost of hospitalization were compared between the two groups.

Results

There were significant differences in dilation success rate, tract formation time, hemoglobin decline and cost of hospitalization between the two groups (P<0.05), but one stage stone-free rate and hospital stay weren't different significantly (P>0.05).

Conclusion

The establishment of passage with the patent dilator for renal calculus in non-dilated collecting system appears simple and efficient.

Key words: Dilator, Non-hydronephrotic kidney, Renal stone, Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy
