Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the effect of integrative nursing care for prevention of deep venous thrombosis(DVT) of lower extremities in patients underwent radical prostatectomy.

Methods

A total of 35 patients undergoing radical prostatectomy from April 2020 to August 2020 were recruited as the intervention group, and received integrative nursing care, including screening and assessment, observation of precursor symptoms, vascular protection, early postoperative rehabilitation activitie, position management, nutritional support and body fluid management, body temperature management and patient education, and other nursing measures. A total of 35 patients from September 2019 to March 2020 undergoing radical prostatectomy were selected as the control group and received routine nursing. The occurrence of DVT in lower extremities was compared between the two groups.

Results

DVT occurred in 1 patients (2.86%) of the intervention group and 5 patients (14.28%) in the control group. The difference of the incidence of thrombosis between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion

The integrative nursing care can effectively reduce the incidence of DVT in lower extremities in patients undergoing radical protectomy and promote patient recovery.
