Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application value of differential subsampling with cartesian ordering (DISCO) imaging technique in the differential diagnosis of prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Methods

The clinical data of 100 patients with prostatic diseases treated in Lingnan Hospital of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2020 to December 2021 were collected. All patients underwent MRI examination, which was confirmed by biopsy pathology or surgical pathology, including 40 patients with PCa and 60 patients with BPH, MRI combined with DISCO imaging technology was used to measure the hemodynamic parameters, such as Ktrans, Ve, IAUGC, MaxSlope and CER. The diagnostic value of each parameter was evaluated by ROC curve.

Results

Compared with BPH group, Ktrans, CER, IAUGC, MaxSlope and Ve in PCa group were significantly higher (P<0.05). The areas under the ROC curve of Ktrans, CER, IAUGC, Ve and MaxSlope in the diagnosis of PCa were 0.646, 0.697, 0.713, 0.613 and 0.669, respectively.

Conclusion

DISCO imaging technology can provide important reference value for the differential diagnosis of BPH and PCa.

Key words: DISCO, Denign prostatic hyperplasia, Prostate cancer, Differential diagnosis
