Abstract:

Objective

To construct a perioperative comprehensive nursing management program for day-surgery of prostate enucleation and apply it in clinical practice, in order to provide comprehensive, standardized and efficient perioperative nursing interventions for patients.

Methods

Based on patient interviews, literature searches, and group discussions, a perioperative comprehensive nursing management program for day-surgery of prostate enucleation was constructed, and 22 experts were consulted for 2 rounds. Patients who underwent day-surgery for prostate enucleation in our hospital from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects. The observation group was managed using perioperative comprehensive nursing management program for day-surgery of prostate enucleation, while the control group received routine care. The surgical efficiency, quality, and safety related indicators between two groups of patients after intervention were compared.

Results

The questionnaire response rates for both rounds of inquiry were 100%, with expert authority coefficients of 0.905 and 0.895, Kendall's W coefficient for importance scores of 0.206 and 0.274, and Kendall's W coefficient for feasibility scores of 0.157 and 0.246, respectively. After intervention, the preoperative preparation rate, on-time start rate of surgery, and follow-up completion rate of patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the bladder flushing time, bladder flushing volume, hospitalization time were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion

The comprehensive nursing management program for day-surgery prostate enucleation has good feasibility and practicality, which can improve surgical efficiency and nursing quality to a certain extent.
