Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the value of contrast enhanced ultrasonography for the diagnosis of prostate cancer using a meta-analysis.

Methods

The Chinese and English literatures on contrast enhanced ultrasonography for prostate cancer diagnosis were searched until October 20,2022.After screening the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the relevant data were extracted.Meta-analysis was performed on the literature using Meta Disc 1.4 and Stata 16.0 software.

Results

The combined sensitivity of the diagnosis of prostate cancer by contrast enhanced ultrasonography was 0.77(95%CI: 0.75-0.78),the combined specificity was 0.80(95%CI: 0.78-0.81),the combined positive likelihood ratio was 3.88(95%CI: 3.07-4.91),the combined negative likelihood ratio was 0.28(95%CI: 0.23-0.34),and the combined diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) was 15.59(95%CI: 10.64-22.84),and the pooled area under the curve (AUC) of the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) was 0.87(95%CI: 0.83-0.89).

Conclusion

Contrast enhanced ultrasonography has a high application value for the diagnosis of prostate cancer and can be used as an imaging screening tool for prostate cancer.
